The converted area (UR) is a measure for the Kubatur of buildings. The term was defined in DIN 277 from the year 1950. This standard is today no longer valid and by the term gross volume (BRI) was replaced. The term is often used nevertheless also today still in the expertise.
The converted area is computed as follows:
- In principle length x height of x broad of the carcass external dimensions are computed.
- With finished sizes from all masses 2% for clean taken off.
- The height is counted starting from upper edge cellar floor.
- With not made a cellar under buildings starting from one counts.
- With not developed attic the height up to the surface of the soils over the highest full storey is counted.
- With developed attic up to the exterior surface of the enclosing walls and covers one counts, without roofing
- With different projectile sketches the individual projectiles must be counted separately.
- The not removed roof space is set only to a third.
To be not separately computed:
- Dormer-ventilators and - develop to 2 m exposed surface
- Balcony plates and cantilever roof slabs up to 0,5 m discharge
- Roof projections and Gesimse, individual pre-aged stages, wall columns and - columns
- normal establishments
Furthermore with changes the area are not considered the following construction units particularly which can be estimated:
- unusual establishments (e.g. pile foundations)
- seals water pressure-holding
- Balcony and terrace parapet walls
- Balcony plates and cantilever roof slabs > 0.5 m discharge
- Outside staircases
- free standing chimneys
- Roof systems and - dormers with > 2 m exposed surface
- Pits and channels.
If the converted area is to be calculated by an indication of the gross volume, one can use the following guide:
- all not covered or not ranges umschlossenen in full height take off
- 2/3 from all not removed parts from attics take off.
