The line of credit designates the maximum credit height of a dynamic credit account.

One differentiates between lines of credit for private and trading accounts. On a private account the maximum height of the agreed upon arrangement credit is mostly called line of credit. This is mostly temporally unlimited in contrast to the line of credit on trading accounts and for availabilty is free.

Lines of credit on trading accounts have usually a certain running time - as a rule this is the financial year of the enterprise. At expiration of this running time the bank examines whether the enterprise exhibits still the appropriate credit-worthiness. For to the availabilty of lines of credit on trading accounts banks mostly require fees, even if the credit straight is not used. As example 0.5% can be called here per annum the agreed upon line of credit.
