That credit in blank is one credit-borrows itself, with Kreditinstitut for a customer by acceptance of a draft obligated.

With the credit in blank the bank accepts the change of its customer. More favoured a creditor is, e.g. a supplier of the customer. The bank is responsible then for the redemption of the change.

That credit in blank is granted only first-class companies, over whose solvency no doubt exists. They get an excellent and easily usable credit and currency in the banker's acceptance:

  1. Main meaning has that credit in blank particularly in the foreign trade as documentary credit. There it for foreign partners heavily is to be estimated the credit-worthiness of the trade partner, can the acceptance of a bank this clearly increase.
  2. As currencies it can be given to a supplier for the payment of its commitments (trade drafts).
  3. As credit means it serves the procurement of liquid means (financial bills). The accepting bank causes itself however usually out that the change is discounted with it, so that it earns the discount. One selects the change form, because the credit for the customer is partially cheaper than another credit.
